Summary
Ageratina riparia is a popular ornamental plant that has been widely spread from its home region in Central America. It is naturalised in many tropical regions of the world and is invasive in some such as Hawaii, Australia and the islands of the Indian Ocean. It can form dense quasi monospecific stands which crowd out native plants, limiting their regeneration.
